Your Hometown Hardware Neighbor

For more than 33 years, our family has had the privilege of doing business in the communities we call home.

It all started with a small, family-owned interior design store and a simple belief: work hard, treat people right, and take care of your customers. Over the years, that business grew into something we never could have imagined when our parents first opened the doors more than three decades ago.

Today, the Elfstrand family operates Floor to Ceiling, our interior design store, along with two Elfstrand's Ace Hardware locations. Three and a half years ago, we took a big step forward and built our first Ace Hardware store from the ground up, strategically located right next door to Floor to Ceiling. Then, nearly two years ago, we had the opportunity to expand again by acquiring an Ace Hardware store in Huron, South Dakota.

While our businesses have grown and changed, the way our family does business hasn't. We still believe in knowing our customers by name, standing behind what we sell, lending a hand when someone needs it, and treating people the way we'd want to be treated.

Being a family-owned business in a small community means more to us than simply owning a store. Our customers are our friends, neighbors, former classmates, employees, and families we've gotten to know over generations. We're proud to support local schools, organizations, events, and the communities that have supported our family for more than three decades.

We've been fortunate to grow from interior design into hardware, home improvement, lawn and garden, outdoor living, and more — but at heart, we're still the same local family business we were 33 years ago.

We're incredibly thankful for every customer who has walked through our doors, recommended us to a friend, trusted us with a project, or simply stopped in to say hello. Their support has allowed our family and our businesses to grow, create local jobs, and continue investing in the communities we call home.

After more than 33 years, we're proud of where our parents started, proud of what our family has built together, and especially grateful for the customers, employees, friends, and neighbors who have made it all possible.

For our family, this has always been about more than business. It's about family, community, relationships, and building something that can continue serving our neighbors for generations to come.
